Battery-powered sensors using the LoRaWAN protocol provide the data that are displayed below.
As a trial of the various elements needed to build an IoT solution based on LoRaWAN, two use-cases have been implemented. The base LoRaWAN setup consists of the sensors, a MikroTik KNOT LR8 as the Gateway and The Things Network providing the Network Server and Application Server functions.
The Browan Tabs Healthy Home Sensor IAQ measures and reports indoor temperature, relative humidity and air quality levels. It also estimates and reports Carbon Dioxide and Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels.
The two graphs below show readings from the Browan IAQ sensor, taken over the last two days. The sensor provides readings every five minutes; about 105,000 readings per year.
The Tektelic Clover Agriculture Sensor measures and reports soil moisture & temperature levels. It also measures and reports ambient air temperature, relative humidity and light intensity.
The three graphs below show readings from the Tektelic Clover sensor, taken over the last two days. The sensor provides readings every fifteen minutes; about 35,000 readings per year.
